Pride Parade Gone Wrong

November 25th 2023 is an important date in Perth for today is when we have our pride parade! Being LGBTQ+ myself I was keen to go so I dressed accordingly. I arrived there hoping to showcase that I’m proud of who I am and I ain’t backing down either but someone saw me and knocked me out. Somehow not being seen at a public space with lots of people where someone might even suspect a possible hate crime to be occurring (damn that got dark), I was taken to an unknown location taped up on a chair. I don’t even know where my kidnapper is. At least they put me on the trans flag. That was nice of them but that still doesn’t excuse kidnapping. Please let me go! This is a very important event for me!

I haven’t actually gone yet but i will go soon and hopefully not get kidnapped haha.

On the life side of things two things stand out. Let’s get the bad stuff out of the way first. Yesterday there was an incident at work. So usually in my area there’s a gender neutral toilet but it gets occupied very frequently and I got very impatient so I went down into the office and used the women’s restroom. About an hour later I got called in for it and told to at least only use the unisex toilets because people still see me “as a man“. While I have no problems using the unisex toilet, it did hurt and I had to keep my tears in for hours until my shift ended. I am very much certain that what I went through was a textbook example of transphobia in the workplace as I was effectively being denied access to a women’s space based on the (false) perception that I’m male. Fortunately my boyfriend and friends were there to comfort me after work and affirm that I am a woman but Monday is going to be a doozy. I’m hoping you all see me as a woman and not as a man dressing as a woman or a ”trap” or whatever because I genuinely feel that I am one.

More positively tomorrow I’m doing a livestream at 6pm UTC+8 on YouTube of a sort of online standup comedy routine. I’m calling it Pinochet Pushed Me Out of a Helicopter (oof!) and I hope people enjoy it as comedy has been something I’ve wanted to get into since I was about 8 and making someone laugh and smile is the nicest feeling to me. Kinda explains why my DeviantArt tagline is “telling gags or getting gagged” haha.
