So it just made them unconscious due to how much information was processed in that amount of time. He then spent the 5min going around and kills all of the transfigured corpses. He didn’t kill Mahito/Gojo/Choso because the weren’t as affected as the non sorcerers so it was unclear how fast they would wake up. also for the 1min vs 20min thing The needed to occupy gojo for atleast 20min to prepare the prison realm Then they needed to keep him in a 4m range of the prison realm for 1min to seal him

And he had everyone who was stuck inside call for gojo satoru to come. Also it’s not a veil that was chanted but a veil that was “put”, meaning the nail that itadori had broke last ep against the grasshopper curse.
