Next lockdown math lecture in ~2.25 hours

Thanks you all for the support during this rather different experiment.  So far it's been fun, if mildly nerve-racking.  This upcoming lecture will be on the basics of complex numbers.

Also, I recently hopped on the Numberphile podcast to chat with Brady about why I'm doing these live streamed lessons: https://www.numberphile.com/podcast/grant-sanderson-2

I tempted to answer "I understand" to the question: "What best describes your relationship with the Euler's formula". But these days, I feel my understanding is always shallow. So I answered that as "I still don't understand it, but I've grown used to it." A long time ago, when I saw the Taylor series expansion of each term, I believed I understand it. I still recall it was a mind-blowing experience. But, about the answer to your question, I was right. I didn't really understand this yet. You revealed that I didn't understand it yet. I am now much sure I am still missing something about Euler's formula. Thank you for the great course!

Hi! It's much louder! And the lecture is even better than the others :D So much looking forward to these every time! And it's really amazing to see that you have no problem admitting that you made a mistake. So many of my teachers didnt do that and thus I learned incorrect things, because of their stubborness! Keep going strong!

Grant, thanks so much for this series of videos. As someone who studied math in college and struggled in early calculus classes (thankfully i managed to persevere!) due to a less than stellar grasp of precalculus/trig, it's been extremely enlightening to revisit some of the material through your channel and acquire the intuition that was so sorely lacking as an indifferent high school junior/senior. Are you planning on covering conic sections at all? I have a hazy recollection of learning concepts like the directrix and focus of a parabola, etc but was never able to connect any of that rote memorization with upper-level math... Thanks again for everything that you do! Hope that you are staying safe amidst all the chaos.

Hi, on the last live streams the audio was more quiet than your average youtube video. I only have the little laptop from work to watch it on (apart from my phone) which is super quiet and the speakers are on the bottom. Can we maybe increase the volume a bit? would be nice. Really loved the others and have watched them again :) Thanks
