The prism video is live!

Finally, after two months, it's out. If there's anyone you know who you think may enjoy this lesson, do consider sharing it with them.

Based on Patron comments, I ended up adding a bit more to the explanation, and pulling out the section about other questions on the index of refraction into a separate video, which should be out fairly shortly.

Hey grant, watching this video a question came to mind which has always been something that I couldn't wrap my head around. Considering the "excitement" model of reflection and color, how exactly does that translate in terms of reflections and angles? Is the energy absorption and "layering" just a simplification for ease of understanding or is it something to do with the "dual" behavior of light, as a particle-wave thingy? i.e., if we consider this electromagnetic wave modelling of resonance and such, I have an understanding that if something "is green", it implies that its material's resonant frequency is similar to the green light's frequency. However, the way I was taught in terms of photons and electrons, a Green material would be green because of the difference in energy levels of its electrons layers. From my understanding, both of these models are consistent, but how do they relate to each other? And is there any way to make them equivalent? And returning to the initial question, how do you explain/model angles and reflection on a photon excitement material engineering view?

Great video. The new animations were great.

I am curious, will you go into describing absorption and emission (LASER!) with indices of refraction (or will you show self restraint)

Martín Hoecker-Martínez

Rerecording the narration was worth it. Already the introduction sounds so much smoother :)
