News:

We have some new designs from Monday's episode in our TeePublic store which will continue to update: Magic Tavern merch store

From Arnie:

Went up to Michigan for a weekend of leafpeeping with Emily, as well as celebrated Halloween with the kiddo. But mostly it was a lot of work this month, with the release of the Jackbox Survey Scramble… and the new Fakin’ It physical board game (now available to order on Amazon). Mostly, though, as is often the case with the Jackbox, when a new thing comes out that means we’re already hard at work on the next thing. Currently in preproduction with Tim Sniffen on something for next year (as well as poking my nose into a lot of other projects).

In the comments, what’s the best Halloween costume you saw this year? For me it was a kid dressed as a garbage man with a little dumpster he wheeled around.

TV – In no particular order.

Movies – Best to less best. Watched/rewatched a lot of scary movies for spooky season. Most of these I kind of liked.

From Matt:

October 2024

Spent some time with family. I was helping my mom after a surgery and I made her a Doctor Who fan (or at least cemented her as a David Tennant fan). Had a nice low-key birthday when I got home with Jessye. Also went to the Kane County Toy Fair at the end of the month and had fun picking up some old Kenner Star stuff (cheap stuff I never had a la a kid to fill out my old collection) and old broken Transformers (a project for me to repair in the future).

Audio:

Listened to show tunes in the car when I realized that the car has Sirius and there is a whole Broadway channel. Fun! More MBMBAM. Always go back to that.

Games

As a birthday gift I got The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. A really fun entry in my favorite video game series of all time.played over the course of a couple of weeks. I recommend it. Also got Animal Crossing and Luigi’s Mansion to experience some older games I skipped, but haven’t taken the plunge yet.

TV/Movies/Web stuff:

‘Twas the Spooky Season and our Food Network watching reflected that: Halloween Baking Championship, Halloween Cookie Bake Off (I think is the title?) and best of all Last Bite Hotel. Tituss Burgess is the host and elevates the host role by making a meal out of his character of the “hotel manager.” Legitimately laugh out loud funny.and of course about 3 seasons of modern DW with mom.

Food:

Haven’t been cooking much but need to get back to it (for health). Also it’s almost the holidays, so look forward to my pie making reports over the next couple of months (so much for health).

Self Improvement?

I’ve been taking a course about Purpose and thinking about what is next. Exciting and kind of reinvigorating. Bought a lot of books to read. Probably too many at once. Stay tuned.

Matt, I'm looking forward to those pie making reports! Arnie, I dressed up as the impressive clergyman from the princess bride and won my company costume contest, which was clearly the best costume I saw this year... Also a group of kids dressed up as the SpongeBob crew was pretty awesome!

Nicholas LeClair

I saw three kids in those inflatable trex costumes which never fail to make me laugh, bumping into each other down a driveway on the way to ring someone's doorbell 😆😆😆

Amy Gigglepuss666

Thanks for sharing the claymation for over the garden wall! I love that cartoon!

Francesca Agnello

My wife Amy and i were dressed in vaguely medieval clothing (tunics cloaks etc) and a (maybe) 12 to 13 year old bob ross came knocking! He even had a painting as a prop! He also informed me that “back then, i doubt they had plastic wrappers!” 😂 the kids are alright!

Michael Salandrea

The Wild Robot is cinematic perfection ❤️❤️❤️ Got to take my 6yo daughter on a lil matinee date 🥹

Jordan Johnson

Best costume I saw was a kid dressed as Doug from the Liberty Mutual commercials carrying a toy emu under his arm.
