The Harpy
Added 2021-04-12 17:36:02 +0000 UTCHarpies are female birdlike creatures that will eat anything that moves, but enjoy the meat and bones of humans above all else. Harpies stalk children, snatching up little ones that stray too far into the forests or mountains where they reside, or even going so far as to steal them from their own backyards. If a harpy gets it's claws on a female child, the head will be removed, and the body fed to the other juvenile harpies. The mother harpy will cradle the head of the child, keeping it warm in her nest. She will feed and nurture it with the bones and blood of other children, until slowly a bird like body will grow from it's head. That is how a harpy is formed.
This one is a little more traditional fairy tale than the others i've been doing, but it's something i've wanted to draw for a while (i did a less fleshed out drawing of a similar harpy idea for inktober a few years ago). I really like very over the top grotesque fantasy and sci fi things, but sometimes it's fun just to do a more traditional fairy tale style (which honestly old fairy tales are already super dark). I used to do a lot of drawings and comic ideas that existed in this sort of world. I'm also thinking it's possible i could do a more grotesque version of a harpy in the future (more fitting with the theme of my other drawings). I think the stickers for this one turned out realllly good! Makes me want to do a whole set of mythical creatures. Anyway, i hope you like it!
I'm gonna do a post soon containing all of my bloodborne stuff so far from this month for print/ download, just need to scan all of them in.
