Gaussly Fur Update
Added 2021-03-28 03:58:42 +0000 UTCI've been working really hard on this guy, and I think we have Gaussly's fur and materials nearly complete!
A lot of credit goes to Fox for creating the skin material, which uses subsurface scattering to make the exposed flesh parts look as realistic as possible.
On top of that though, I think this is, by far, my best fur groom to date! I figured out how to control the clumping distribution, which adds a lot to the realism, and Kish's sculpt of the character gave me a lot of room to grow out and style the fur.
As a final touch, I tweaked the coloring of the robotic parts to more closely match the fur color, and I think the end result is really sharp and clean.
Looking forward to getting this guy animated soon.
