Yeah, I need to see Demon's Souls for myself to really know what this furor over its aesthetic is...

Interesting. I'll need to go back and play some older stuff. ("Older")

Like you said, it's just too bad they haven't been able to make more.

I agree with the pre-order situation. It's really unfortunate.

I borrowed my brothers and played around with it for around 12 hours so far. I love how fast it turns on from being powered off. The game loading speed is also cool but I expected that. I think the controller is... neat. I still dont think it is near as comfortable as the Xbox controllers and the haptics are cool, but to me they're cool in the same way (good) 3D movies are, (things like avatar or alita that do it well), in that I enjoy them but also would just as easily enjoy them without it. I enjoyed Miles and Astrobot quite a bit. I'm not really a Souls guy, except Bloodborne and Fallen Order, so I didnt care about Demon's Souls, it looks good though. I watched some uncompressed videos and it's for sure a good looking game but still not entirely certain why some people think it is such a graphical masterpiece. Final note is that it is awesome to be able to play some of the PS4 games in 60fps. Days Gone looks like a completely different game when the framerate isnt dropping to the teens in the no man's land.

Dude. I put a PS4 disc in mine just to see how loading a game that way worked and I was astonished at how loud the drive is.

I’m Lovin’ It McDonalds style. The breakfast is dope. The rest of menu is decent enough with a few great hits. Yet, I have no idea when I can actually order a McRib or why it even goes away.

Honestly, playing games like Ghost of Tsushima and Apex Legends on this machine has essentially validated it for me without even needing a solid launch lineup. The experience is transformative. I only wish these games could take advantage of the Dual Sense because that technology is amazing. Having played Astro and some Black ops, I can say that this is probably the most significant addition to a controler since programmable back buttons (Something I sorely miss on PS5) I'm really enjoying my time with the PS5 and I can't wait to see how the real next gen exclusives will take advantage of this machine.

I feel this is a typical launch for a major console, top quality games are in short supply which is true for any launch, just by the nature of the development cycle.
Let's break it down;
Very capable hardware with Market Leading SSD.
Playstation exclusives on launch and evidence there will be a lot more to come.
A controller that has raised the bar in function, even if we just get standard rumble (still feels better that traditional motors)
Backwards compatibility (we didn't get that with the PS4 at all).
I think Sony are delivering a good product at a good price and it needs time like all the other consoles did before it. Sorry for the Essay.

That disc drive is so loud it's convinced me to go all digital this generation.

It hasn't been without it's issues. I just finished Miles Morales so feeling pretty happy with my purchase. I wish it's wasn't so supply restricted for those that want one.

Yes it has with the backwards compatibility. Is heating up a bit though. I don't know if that's because i have it horizontal though but I thought that wouldn't matter.

Also this has been probably one of the worst console launches. From the awful pre orders to not being able to buy them now. It was probably worth waiting another year to make sure this wouldn’t happen but Sony/retailers don’t care bots and resellers are buying all consoles. I understand i sound super salty because i am.

Game and feature wise, yes. Crashing and loud disc drive wise, no.
