In Serious Need of Feedback

Hey there, Oxdarock here.

Ok, first things first, I’m going to have to cancel the voting poll for the Enchantavators. I realized that I want to move on and stopping to make four more pictures is counter productive. I apologize and thank everyone who took part in the voting polls. I will still do the photo request roll later today just to give that a try and see how well I can handle it.

Onto the main topic, I need some feedback on my Patreon. Like, in desperate need of feedback. I’ve been trying all kinds of different things that I thought were interesting and that other people would be interested in, but not a lot of my patrons really take part in voting polls or suggesting characters, etc. And if the people who support me this much despite not caring about the extra things I do, then naturally I assume that people who are interested in rewards and extra stuff don’t find what I offer worth it. I can take the time to readjust how I do things again, but I’m really at the point where I’m better off just asking people what they want in terms of rewards. Whether it works for me or not is another matter entirely, but I would really, really appreciate it if people could share what they look for in a Patreon. It doesn’t even have to be something new. Just knowing if what I do now is good enough or not would be a huge help. If I could sum it up in a few questions, they’d be:

Is what I offer interesting or worth it? Are the things I do too complicated? Is there something I could add or do differently? Am I doing too much or worrying about it too much?

That’s a start to jog anyone into thinking about it, but really any advice will do. I just seriously need some feedback. Really badly.

That’s all for now.

I've honestly been trying to figure out how to approach making a discord group for the longest time and just have no idea if that's really worth it. I'm not opposed to it though.

I think the conclusion here is that the stuff I offer is more complicated than it needs to be and my posts are too long. Also if there's a way to make involvement less things less involved on the patron's end, then that works better.

This makes perfect sense to be honest. Anime is all I ever watch, but it really never occurred to me how many of my viewers don't watch it at all. Not to mention I think I realized after posting this that I have a lack of faith in my own characters. And yeah, the stuff I post is way too long so maybe I should simplify it better.

I have never been very active in Patreon in part due to my "availability" as it were. I read your posts (as well as others I support) and then forget about them because I don't have immediate time to get into what's being presented and participate. That part is pretty much on me, but the artist essentially suffers because of it ^^; Another part is that the length of your posts makes it feel like whatever you are offering/presenting us far too complicated than it needs to be; whether or not that is actually the case I cannot say due to my overall lack of being able to keep up to date or involved. I do appreciate the level of interest and involvement you put into making things interesting and exciting for us (especially after seeing your post on no longer streaming your work), but when posts refer back to concepts or other perks (which may or may not be complicated) and I have no idea what you're going on about, that makes me hesitant in participating (If I have that free time, of course). For example: I have no idea what Stack Points are and have no idea what to use them on or even how to use them. Things like submitting character suggestions for all these different projects and such also adds to my confusion, like when should I suggest them or who is going for what and so on. The characters themselves that wind up in the polls are fine, so no problem with me there. To summarize: Most of this lack of involvement is on my end and not on you. Perhaps it's the format Patreon uses and how easily Artist posts get lost in the feed, but that's beyond your control and something I would just have to work on ^^;

Think it would be better if had content rewards. On the higher amount than 5 dollars. I could suggest you doing a Discord-Patreon group. so your patreons can interact & stay around in a room that's exclusive to those that support or are clients of yours.

Hi. I am just a lower pledge patreon and this is just my opinion, so take it with the appropriate "grain of salt." I really like your style and your ideas. Your OCs are great and you portray them well. It's hard to recall names with all these characters in the fandom, but Tygra is a really great example with all those golden shines. My personal reasons for not interacting more are probably the sheer length of the posts. I know you mean well and want to explain everything, but it makes them so long, that I just lose interest in reading them half way. Again, sorry, this is just my point of view. Then for the things where we choose characters, they're all characters I don't know anything about. It's usually Anime and not everybody is versed in that. I stopped watching Anime over about a decade ago, so all the newer ones I know nothing about, so I stay out of the voting. So, again, sorry if this makes no sense. But if you want my suggestions, I'd say do more with your own characters. Keep the rules short and to the point. But other than that, enjoy what you are doing. Maybe this post will open a discussion, who knows.
