π MindWare 0.2.3 Release Candidate
Added 2025-07-09 12:50:22 +0000 UTCHey everyone! The public release of version 0.2.3 was supposed to be ready by now, but I've been sick for the last few days and haven't been able to finish playtesting the game and fixing bugs.
Since I don't want to delay the release to supporters but also don't want to release a buggy public version, I've decided to release what I have as a release candidate.

Important Structural Change:
This release represents a major shift in MindWare's design. The game has been primarily linear until now, with events unfolding on specific days in a set sequence.
This linear approach wasn't my initial vision - I'd originally planned for a more open, branching narrative. But I quickly learned that creating a complex, semi-open interactive fiction as my first game project in limited spare time wasn't the most practical decision. The linear structure helped me manage the game's complexity without getting overwhelmed (well, at least most of the time).
The good news is that this approach has given me invaluable experience, and I now feel ready to give a more open hub-based non-linear structure a go. So, in Chapter 2, you will be able to tackle multiple quest lines independently without any time-based triggers.
I'll go into more depth about this structural change and my future plans in the public post, hopefully later this week. I'm also updating the content diagram, which will be ready alongside the public version.

I have to agree with talespinner.
