I mean senor pink genuinely only cared for his family, that doesn't mean he genuinely cares for everyone. he is still an evil scumbag, if Doflamingo ordered senor pink to murder 100 babies he would do it without hesitation. Senor pink is a cool character though and the senor pink flashback is another amazing one piece moment that shows why 0da is the best and why one piece is my fav manga/anime ever but it doesn't change the fact senor pink is evil and from a crime family and he killed people and families if doffy ordered him too. but yeah the flashback displayed oda's great writing yet again and gave us a sad backstory that no one saw coming.

Oda straight up went, "oh my side characters are trash, allow me to make you sad." Senior Pink's back story is one of the main reasons I say all the characters in OP are deep, imagine we had a back story on everyone.

Thats where i started to love one piece more than ever ... this backstory got me teared up like shit !! Even uzumaki khan stated that this episode gave him the number one spot for one piece surpassing naruto

Idk how many times i've read/watched senor pink's backstory but it's just so well set up and narrated. Gets me everytime despite being short as heck.

What a way to end this unbelievable duel. The way Oda came full circle on Senior's ridiculous style of dress was masterful. I never hated Senor Pink but I was annoyed by his antics. The annoyance of him started to wane after seeing him genuinely care for others. His backstory detailing the loss of his son and the painfully-implied dissolution between him and Russian was what inevitably turned me into a Senior Pink stan. The way Franky wiped away Senior Pink's tears at the end of this duel subsequently venerated him as one of the most compassionate straw hats. In my opinion. 🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚
