The Giant Stump Spider is a giant spider in the giant trapper family, Magnacassidae, native to Leylhaika forest. It has a large abdomen that resembles a tree stump and an exoskeleton texture that looks like a tree bark. It hunts by pretending to be a tree stump and luring prey by leaving some baits such as mushrooms, berries, insects, and sometimes small animals on its back. It covers its abdomen with its sticky silks which have a similar brownish color and easily blend in with the abdomen texture. Although it mostly hunts smaller prey, Its venom and strength is enough to take out larger animal such as a deer, boar or humanoid.

It's the first prompt~!
Turn out coming up with a unique mimic is really hard. So for this one, instead of the traditional fantasy mimic, I make a creature that use 'mimicry' to hunt. The other alternative that I come up with is also interesting; a corpse mimic - mimic who can't produce camouflage layer so it use dead bodies, branch mimic - swarm of small mimics that resemble tree branches, and vine centipede - a large centipede with body that resemble a vines. But in the end I did what I always do in this challenge, look deep inside and go with my guts. Thus this one is just clicking in my head more than the others.
As usual, all the files will be distributed at the end of the month~
Because I want to compile 2020 and 2021 in a book/PDF, just like the 2019 artbook, as soon as possible, I decided to start filling in some blanks to fit the book layout (I want 1 creature per spread just like before). While at it, I might as well start making stats for them, so here it is~ (and some extra content, like possible harvested material, to fill the space on the page~)
Since my priority is to fill in the blanks, I will prioritize creatures that only have 1 page made (like this one). The schedule is gonna be rather sporadic since I'm working on them during those tiny little gaps in between my crazy schedule of work and the regular Patreon content. And It won't be in a particular order since I'm going to depend on which one my brain is going to pick first.
All of these new pages will also be added to their respective folder, which can be found in the Vault Post .
