Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement)
The Transient Tranquility was forged by the renowned elven bladesmith, Lirel Silverstring, during a time of great strife between the wood elves that inhabit the Svasnia Vale and neighboring kingdoms. Seeking a way to end the bloodshed without further loss, Lirel turned to ancient elven enchantments and the ethereal energies of the Feywild. Infusing the blade with the essence of tranquility, she created a weapon that could subdue without killing. The blade's ethereal nature and its ability to lull enemies into a peaceful slumber quickly became legendary, and many battles were ended with a mere swing of this sword. Since then, the sword has been replicated many times and become a traditional sword for disciple of The Silverstring Monastery who uphold Lirel’s teaching and pacifism ideals.
Transient Tranquility and its sheath weigh almost nothing and the blade can pass through any solid object except the sheath. This sword It has light and finesse properties. Additionally, when you hit with an attack using this weapon, you can deal additional damage equal to your Wisdom modifier to the damage roll.
Ethereal Edge. Attacks with this weapon don't cut or harm in the traditional sense. Instead, they pass through targets, dealing psychic damage. This damage doesn't cause pain but erodes the target's consciousness. When you deal damage with this weapon, the target's current hit points and hit point maximum are both reduced by the amount of damage dealt. This weapon can't reduce a creature's hit point maximum below 10. The creature's maximum hit point is restored after a long rest.
Restful Repose. If you reduce a creature's hit points to 0 with this weapon, it doesn't die. Instead, the creature becomes unconscious but stable and falls into a deep, peaceful slumber for 8 hours. Upon awakening, the creature remains under the effects of the calm emotions spell for 1 hour. If the creature takes damage while in this slumber, it can make a Constitution saving throw, with a DC equal to 10 or half the damage taken (whichever is higher), to awaken. Otherwise, only a lesser restoration, greater restoration, or wish spell can awaken the creature.
