Golden Guillotine

The weapon known as the Golden Guillotine is a sacred artifact of the Dawn Lord, forged from the consecrated remains of a Gilded-Scale Bear. Its blades, crafted from the bear’s large horns, retain the innate abilities to generate fire and light, and to emit a powerful radiant beam capable of incinerating anything in its path. This weapon is among several holy relics that can only be fashioned by the temple artisans authorized by the Trias Celestia and the Sun Dome. Production of the Golden Guillotine is permitted only when a Gilded-Scale Bear passes away naturally or in the line of duty. This process serves as a sacrament, honoring the creature for its service in protecting the mountain and the followers of the Dawn Lord.

The Golden Guillotine grants a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it. Additionally, attacks with this axe deal an additional 2d6 fire damage. As a bonus action, you can activate the axe to emit bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet. This light effect lasts until you use another bonus action to turn it off.

Radiant Energy. The Golden Guillotine holds 5 charges and regains 1d4+1 expended charges each day at dawn. It has the following abilities:

Sunlit Authority. As a bonus action, you can expend 1 charge to make the axe emit bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet for 1 hour. This light is considered as sunlight and can suppress the effects of magical darkness. Any hostile creature that enters the area of bright light for the first time on a turn or starts its turn in it must make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, fire damage against the creature ignores any resistance to fire damage and treats immunity to fire damage as resistance until the start of its next turn. You can extinguish the light early as a bonus action.

Radiant Beam. As an action, expend 2 charges to unleash a 60-foot long, 5-foot wide beam of radiant light. Creatures caught in the beam must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw, taking 5d8 radiant damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.
