The Nash Metropolitan was one of the smallest cars ever sold in America, and certainly one of the cutest. Born during an era when the United States was fixated on bigger and bolder automobiles, the Nash Metropolitan refreshed the American recipe for daily transportation. Typical American cars from the 1950โs featured an array of colors with usually a two-tone scheme. The Metropolitan aimed to mimic designs of the time while shrinking the scale of the vehicle. The car was designed to appeal to the family as a 2nd car that allowed quick trips to the store or train station when the whole family wasnโt being part of the trip. Room for two very comfortably and in a pinch the back seat could accommodate a couple of small children or additional luggage or cargo.
