We're back in business

We’re back in business! 


I’ve been pretty quiet recently besides a few polls because I didn’t want to post anything until I actually had a decent dent worth of work done. So, this post has a few things to go over.



So, let's start with how updates and road maps will work from now on. I’ve already said I was going to move to a more flexible development style and I think I’m going to keep it as it really helps me refine my ideas and polish them before I add them, compared to just rushing to get coding done so I can get writing done. The new thing I’m going to start doing is being quite a bit less talkative about future stuff until I know for a fact that I will add it and I have already started on it. So, road maps just aren’t going to be a thing, insead I’m going to do “terrain maps”, basically these will entail everything I want to add and that I’ve already thought out, but they will not be added in any particular order. Mostly because I find it really hard to focus on one thing for more than about a month. I’m hoping that this will help me achieve my goals and not make me feel like a lair or a charlatan when I miss a deadline or if I say something and then change my mind. Now, don’t worry, I will still have polls for you guys and I’m very open to changing this over time, but I think this is a pretty solid plan.


The current update will focus on adding Gloria the witch, a player inventory, item effects, player unlockable, wearable items that give bonuses and an area in the library to read collectable books. Sounds like a lot, but I already know how I’m going to code everything and I already have the basic ground work coded. The real meat of this update is coding the effects that these items will add. I might also centralize all npc weight gain events and passive weight gains so I can more easily add effects and events later on. At the moment I have all of the items in the game code and a system to make sure that all the items aren’t the same. I’m adding the player inventory and the prices and the number of each item that is sold per week. The items sold will change every week and will only be restocked once a week. 


So, the Amulet of caloric intake redirection, or just ACI from now on, will function fairly simply. If you are wearing it, it will take how much food you’ve eaten and subtract it from the calories you need to not lose weight, aka, starve. It will then take the remaining calories, turn them into weight and add them to a character for your choosing. If you give the amulet to a character the invers will happen, no matter how much they eat the weight will go to you and their weight will stay the same.


The Tub of lard will be a consumable item. You will gain 9020 calories to your stomach’s contents, as well as increasing your gluttony. Every time you eat it a counter will go up consecutively, once it reaches a certain number you will get an effect that permanently halves the calories you burn and increases the efficiency of how you gain by 25%. This is tier one of the lard effects, this will also start to track if you ate lard that day, if you stop eating lard at this point you will suffer a stat debuff on all of your stats until you eat more lard. Tier 2 of the lard addiction further lowers how many calories you need per day to about 25% of what it should be and increases weight gain by 50%. Tier 3 lowers your calories needed per day to 10% of what it should be and weight gain by 80% as well as an option in the dining hall to import lard and have a lard barrel with a tube installed for you. At this point you have two options, you can succumb to your addiction and you’ll get a bad ending eventually, or you can try to kick your addiction in a little story line. Please note this is what this item is planned to do, it will be some time before this is implemented.  

 

Jiggle honey works very similar to the lard, except the tiers are very different. Tier 1 you will have a 10% decrease in the calories you need and a 15% increase in your stomach capacity. Tier 2 you will have your body shape change from whatever it is to a pear body shape as well as a further 15% decrease in the calories you need and another 15% increase in your stomach capacity. Tier 3 you will get a unique effect where you will start to lactate honey, the longer you go without milking yourself your breasts will grow and will need to be milked, giving you honey. Tier 4 you will get a unique body shape with a massive pear shape and breasts size that changes depending on how full your breasts are. 


Thick milk works very similar to the jiggle honey, except the effects are slightly different. Tier 1 you will have a 15% decrease in the calories you need and a 20% increase in your stomach capacity. Tier 2 you will have your body shape change from whatever it is to a strawberry body shape as well as a further 35% decrease in the calories you need and another 20% increase in your stomach capacity, as well as an effect forcing you to eat or you’ll get a night time event of you stuffing yourself. Tier 3 you will get a unique effect where you will start to lactate, the longer you go without milking yourself your breasts will grow and will need to be milked, giving you more thick milk. Tier 4 you will get a unique body shape with a massive strawberry shape and breasts size that changes depending on how full your breasts are.   


Btw, eating one of the other items will counteract the others, unless you have gotten to the first tier of one, then it will not affect anything and you can only have one of these effects at a time. At some point I will add an item that will reset your effects so you do have different ones in a play through or I’ll figure out a way to make it so you can have multiple effects at a time.
