[A] Fulfilling a Wedding Promise to Your Brave Wife

Purpose - To re-experience the simulated version of your wife Jenny, who you miss dearly 

Context - In a battle against a galactic threat (hive-mind), your wife sacrificed herself to give humanity the edge needed to win. You had promised her a wedding, and her death destroyed you. In your grief, you compiled all the information and audio you had of her, so you could fulfil your promise of marrying her…even if in a simulated world, with her simulated form. 

Simulation - At first, everything goes perfectly. The ceremony, the setup, the upcoming first dance. Then, despite being a simulation, Jenny begins to notice and bring to your attention things that don’t seem right. She can’t remember her life past a certain point. Some of the guests’ eyes and hair are slightly darker or lighter than normal. She can also tell when you’re faking a smile. The truth is finally revealed when Jenny tries to leave the hotel to go ‘outside,’ only to discover there is no ‘outside.’ She is worried about your way of coping with her death, and you fill her in on the whole truth. She tells you that she will always love you, but that the way you are living is not a life. Will you be able to let her go?

[B] Memory Weaver Fae Listener: Breaking The Curse on Your Wife

Purpose - To remind yourself of who you are, who your wife is, and the life you have lived…even as it all fades by the day

Context - As a Memory Weaver of the courts, you were revered for your ability to craft tangible, living-holographic memories and store them inside the crystal core of your court’s mountain. However, your wife was cursed to eventually forget herself and forget you, and you used forbidden magic to perform a one-time-only trade: you would take on her curse. Before doing the forbidden ritual, you transferred the most important and loving memories of you and your wife to the mountain’s core. Though she is devastated by what you did, your wife wants to support you forever, even as you forget. She brings you to the mountain’s core to relive your best memories with her often, and tells you she will love you always, even if one day you no longer recognise even the memories you stored. 

Memory - Event montage: first meeting, courtship, first kiss, wedding, making a faery flower child together. 

[C] Reliving a Crime Scene and Meeting Your Significant Other in the Memory!

Purpose - The memory served as key evidence in a criminal trial (now concluded)

Setting context - Future-fantasy city of Elysium (think Fritz Lang’s Metropolis)

Memory - You were performing maintenance on the floating ship of the Sentinels, when you noticed that a Sentinel had deliberately instructed a MegaMiner mining robot to collide with the ship. You neutralised the rogue Sentinel with a grease gun and tried to direct the MegaMiner away from the ship. This was partly successful and there was a minor collision, but your arm was trapped in the resulting wreckage. The first person to come to your aid was Prime Sentinel Moumaati (your current significant other). After guiding you through freeing your arm and evading plasma-cutter drones, you told Moumaati about what you saw. She recognised the culprit, and then, taken by your looks and heroic tendencies, expressed her feelings about evil and those who stand up to it. She then gave you a kiss on the cheek. 

After the memory: You call up Moumaati, telling her about re-experiencing the memory, and promise her front-seat tickets to the new Speldance. 

[D] Memory Revisit: A Loving Life Agreement With Your Girlfriend

Purpose - To re-live one of the most important conversations you had with your girlfriend, who has since passed from cancer

Context - You revisit this memory as you have been feeling down, and wish to remind yourself about the agreement you had with her

Memory - You enter the hospital room, to find Tae (your girlfriend) reclined on the bed. Despite her frailty, her contagious smile and emerald eyes light up when she sees you. You talk for a while about how things have been going for each of you, and Tae tells you about the shenanigans she has to put up with from the medical staff. But it isn’t long before your conversation turns serious. She doesn’t say it directly, though it is clear she knows she does not have long to live. She offers you sound advice: encouraging you to find strength and purpose, to treasure every moment, and to share what wisdom you gain. She tells you softly that you should not be afraid to love again, and that her wish for you is to live with courage. Tae cries and you hold each other, for a few moments longer…

[E] Remembering the Dragon Bond (Dragon Rider Listener x Bonded Dragon x Love Interest)

Purpose - To commemorate 10 years since your bonded dragon had to be encased in ice for 100 years to save her life. To honour the sacrifices that were made that night.

Context - You were a dragon rider in the Kingdom of Tyanthr. Your dragon, Kyaxia, was mortally wounded while destroying a sudden and unexpected threat to the realm. Dragons and their riders share a connection that deepens with intimate emotional moments, and that night was when you achieved perfect synchronisation with Kyaxia (a soul merge). It was also the night you realised you were falling in love with Anshura, a powerful healer. 

Memory - You stored that night’s memory sequence in two parts. The first part was of your flight with Kyaxia, and of the perfect bond sync that occurred. The second part was of Anshura’s self-sacrificing spirit as she attempted to heal, again and again, a non-responsive dragon. Finally, you both conceded to the fact that the only way to possibly save Kyaxia was to magically bind her inside ice deep underground where the magic of the land would, over 100 years, restore her essence, and give her a chance at reawakening. Anshura had to bind a part of her spiritcore with the dragon, to ensure the ice and magic held steady. In doing so, the healer would never be as powerful as she once was, but you told her she didn’t need to be, because you would, from then on, protect her with your life.
