2022-09-12 06:32:53 +0000 UTCin episode 4, when Jinx attacked the progress day festival, she stole those mechanical butterflies. From then on, you can see them lying around in her workshop. She tinkers with them. They were shown to land on fingers before, now they carry explosive chemicals and are designed to land on weapons. Caitlyn had no weapon anymore and Ekko was down, so both were spared from direct explosions :)
