So here's artwork I drew, colored and finished for the Sonic Mania review that did not end up getting used. I write out a shot list for this kind of stuff, so I know what my art requirements are going to be for a review, but when I started editing I did not in fact refer to that shot list, so I was like halfway through editing the video when I realized "Wait, I missed something."
This was to go when I say "These guys got to live the dream: they graduated from making fan games, to real official Sonic games."
The guy on the right ended up unintentionally having a very vague resemblance to Christian Whitehead, I later realized. Oh well.
After that bit, when it got to "I kinda expected them to screw it up" it would have panned over to this GIF:

It's probably for the best this artwork didn't get used, because I think there was probably too much time between the two pieces of artwork to make a cohesive connection between them.
Incidentally, those are green eyes, a pair of soap shoes, the crystal ring, and a roll of sports tape, if you were wondering. You can make up your own piece of Modern Sonic memorabilia to go with the two nondescript gray blobs still in the box. I'd considered a sword or something, but that would've been too big and (I think) a little obscure.
