Demiurge's name is a reference to a figure from Gnostic Gospels. In the Gnostic belief the Demiurge is, as best to describe it shortly, the satan figure. The demiurge created the world and reality to trick man into falling away from god. Thus it would make sense that Demiurge here has some command and reality warping abilities.
