Also I really think Parasyte would be right up your alley. It’s violent and emotional and manages to make you care about its characters quickly in a way that is somewhat similar to HxH, which it is thought to have influenced a fair bit. There is a Parasyte easter egg in one of the remaining HxH episodes, and also Menthuthuyoupi was based off of a character in Parasyte. The anime is made by the same great studio Madhouse with a high quality of animation and soundtrack. But Yuyu Hakusho is another outstanding option. It’s Togashis other great, hugely successful and influential manga along with HxH. The anime is an older one so the animation quality is relatively not as great (think early dbz level) but the characters are some of the absolute best in all manga, even better than HxH in my opinion. It also contains the single greatest tournament arc in existence. It’s lighter on the sadness and heavier on the fun but it’s still probably more violent than HxH. I feel extremely confident that you would love both of these anime

i agree to majority of these mainly noragami, devil is a part timer because they're not big episoded series and for a big episode series i'd think you'd like to watch full metal alchemist (or, and) brotherhood.

Maybe because you need to watch 10+ episodes to finally get into the interesting part of the story. I love Steins;Gate too but to many times have I told friends of this anime and they just couldnt get past episode 5 because it was horribly boring

Many good recommendations above. My Favourites are Code Geass, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Guren Lagann and Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic. And to give my own recommendation, ill say Baccano ( its a great anime and is not long, so maybe u could do it with something else (15 episodes)).

I would personally recomend Code Geass. It has somewhere between 20 and 25 episodes per season with 2 season in total. Its one of the first animes i watched and i love it to death. If you like a super smart anti hero, this would be a good pick :D

Steins Gate its a masterpiece but it isnt as popular as others is high on mal tho

How about haikyuu season 2?

Fate / zero would be really awesome but he would be forced to watch the whole series Unlimited blade works etc. Gurren Lagann would probably be the better choice but after what Hunter Hunter did to him the first couple episodes of Gurren Lagann might send him into a feat of depression lol.

136 is the real ending of chimera ant arc if you had time to upload just one. The other 3 will set up the next arc very nicely, good stopping point at the end of 139 but the ending of 140 is truly legendary

Konosuba! its a comedy anime but a really good one the characters in it are amazing

If it should be something more modern (after 2000): Definitively Code Geass, but be aware that you need to see Season 1 AND 2 because they are heavily linked together and the whole story goes from Season 1 episode 1 until the last episode of Season 2. Another good choice: Steins;Gate, modern setting with a main protagonist who proclaims himself as mad scientist and the story is about the “adventures” and discoveries of his personal “research group”. If it can be something a little bit older: Cowboy Bebop (from 1998), a Sci-Fi story with elements of jazz music (... the soundtrack … good stuff …) and most main characters are … to say the least, interesting … Initial D (from 1998), “Sports-Anime” about a 18 year old who happens to be an extremely talented driver who stumbles into the world of street racing and he wins his first few races/duels with ease but there is one issue: he drives a very old car … so how long can he be winning. I love this series and hit has a few seasons, I think it should be around 5 Seasons (81 Episodes and 1 Movie, which is in itself the 3rd Season) Well that’s all I can think off right now, keep on doing your thing I love your reactions

Now if you want something that's really intense and not like any other Shounen, I would recommend Future Diary. It falls in to the genres: psychological, thriller, action, mystery, and supernatural. Definitely a crazy show, one that happens to hold a place in my top ten animes.

I think you would really like Black Clover. It has a medieval style fantasy setting. It's also similar in some ways to SDS, but its kind of more like Naruto in regards to the plot.

AAssassination Classroom is great. Akame Ga Kill too. Older ones: Magi - Labyrinth of Magic, Zero no tsukaima, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood or Higurashi no na koru Ni will be great. ;D

Well shoot, I never considered that a spot is opening up for a new series. I can't think of anything off of the top of my head, but I am sure your community will come up with something exciting!
