He should’ve won Diamond and Pearl hands down, but OF COURSE they found a way to make him lose. I remember being so furious at that time. Ash vs Paul was epic af, and then we get fucking Tobias!! I’m glad they stopped shafting my guy, but it really should’ve been in d&p or xyz

They take just one look at the changed art-style and that's all they need to say that the show is bad. I started my own journey with Pokemon the day it came to my country, which actually is around 20 years ago. I grew up with Pokemon, it was one of my fav tv shows at the time. To me this anime is very nostalgic, something that DeeBeeGeek himself admitted to feel as well. I'll admit that when I saw the new animation and art style for the first time, I was also baffled on how much they have changed things. However, as I gave this series a chance and watched more, I grew not only accustomed to the new style, I started to actually like it. They gave Ash/Satoshi some crazy animation and faces, as well as other characters. To make our main hero NOT go on some long-ass journey and getting badges, but to attend school and learn more about the pokemon there is a nice change of space for me. We had the journey formula for each and every season before that, and it really bore me out. That wasn't even squeezing out an old formula, that that grinding it to dust. This fight where the protagonist finally wins the League, while not epic in proportions when compared to his lost League matches, but it was still very entertaining to me.

This doesn't even feel like a real victory...
