2024-03-18 07:25:41 +0000 UTCDon't know if it has been touched upon already, but regarding Gyro, and this is minor spoilers as it relates to the creation and running of the show, but doesn't ruin anything of the chimera ant main plot. If I recall correctly: the manga author is someone with a lot of health issues limiting his ability to draw the manga, so the manga isn't that much further ahead at this point; The chimera ant arc is complete in the manga, but other than that there are some side-stories and a major arc afterwards, which is still ongoing, though currently at a hiatus. How this affects the show creation is that they were uncertain about how much material they would get to work with, so the decision was made to stop soon after the chimera ant arc, which makes for a decent ending IMO. Unfortunately, this also seems to have affected their decision on how to deal with Gyro in the anime. The author says he has plans on returning to Gyro in the manga and in the manga his story got a "He will return" kind-of-treatment during the chimera ant arc, but in the show they just didn't touch upon him again and it became a loose end of sorts. So sorry to say, but Gyro's story was kind of dropped as they choose to go with a rather decent ending instead, I guess.
