I remember watching this and wonder what the coincidences were with everyone who lost battles and then immediately found a Stille. Stille’s run away when they sense mana. And since everyone who lost expended all of their mana, they were harder to be detected by the Stille. Therefore, one of the easiest ways to pass part 1 of the exam was to fight to the death. 🤯

2024-03-21 18:56:48 +0000 UTCSerie is pronounced with a Z and it’s 3 syllables. The last e in Serie is pronounced with a hard A. ZeriÁ. Sense is also pronounced with a Z and is two syllables. With the last e also being a hard A. Zen Zá. I have to agree with Ange regarding the flashback. It seemed to me like Frieren just looked at Flamme because she didn’t realize she needed to kneel, and then she kneeled appropriately, I’m not sure for what reason she would be kneeling to Grimoires. Denken’s flame tornado is actually a lot more practical than it seems. If you remember, the weakness of defensive magic is that it consumes a ton of mana. Not many characters can hold a perfect defense sphere like Frieren, and certainly not for as long as she did. Denken’s goal was to exhaust Frieren’s mana by engulfing her in a flame tornado that attacks 360 degrees forcing her to hold a perfect mana sphere. Most other mages would’ve lost at this point, Frieren is just that powerful. I don’t see it as Denken wanting to test himself. He simply felt he had to fight Frieren to get a Stille and he’s the most capable in his group. Before the fight he states that he will crush her, and after the fight he states that it’s unbelievable that there is still a mage that outclasses him at his level. If he thought he didn’t stand a chance, he wouldn’t have tried to fight her. Magic is a world of visualization so if you can’t visualize victory you’ve already lost.
