Vacation Time!....sort of...

I've been taking my family to the Jersey shore the last few years, including the older kids and there families, renting a big house and spending a week. I mostly write on my laptop on a balcony.

This year got odd. They said they'd like to do something else, maybe a nice spot in the Poconos with a pool in a small town. So I found a really cool historical villa with private pool, oddly cheap. But..."Actually, this one thinks there isn't enough to do, and those two say they want the beach."

So, I wrangled our Beach house back. But..."I might be starting school early if I get that job as an RA." And "That's a bad time for use, too." I punted and said, "let me know a good time" Crickets. As the summer wore on, someone realized there was no vacation, and they went into a frenzy and organized it themselves, the older kids sprung for a small beachhouse, and they all headed to the beach. Me and the dog waved.

I now have a week with just the dog, and only a few hours at my shops. It's going to be awesome. The last week was hectic and I didn't get words on paper. Auggie and I are in my office and I'm going to see how much writing I can get done, and grill steaks each night and have a glass of wine.

The Big Beach House is fun...but it was a ton of work, and strangely, they didn't want to grill every night. I'm going to challenge myself to see how much I can get done this week. :) They can have their vacation, Auggie and I will have ours.
