We're changing the Discord server!

Hi everybody!

This week we announced that we'll be transitioning the official EW Discord server to Patreon-only. That means if you're reading this, you'll be able to access everything on our server and interact with all the new stuff we have lined up!

We're doing this for a number of reasons. Mainly, it's about safety and responsibility. We take our duty to the community seriously, and we also have a duty to our mods, curators, and team members... Right now we don't feel like we're able to live up to that.

But it's also about creating a really fun, exciting, interesting environment. Tying Discord to Patreon will mean we can allocate resources for FUN STUFF, like more events, giveaways, art streams, game nights etc. We're going to encourage members of the artist team to drop in and chat about technique, share WIPs and exclusive drawings, and answer questions.

We're really excited for this new phase in the server and the community, and we hope you'll enjoy it too!

A few answers to common questions we've seen:

- Yes, this will be available for ALL Patreon tiers.

- Most existing chats will be probably be wiped, so if you have favourite memes you'd better save them now!

- Access is tied to your Patreon account, so if you leave the Patreon your role on the server will revert.

- For now, we're leaving read-only channels like Announcements, Twitter Feed, and The Quiet Room available to everyone.

- Normal users are not getting kicked out (unless they deserve it!), they will just not be able to see most of the channels.
