Shading Style

I've been experimenting with my art style recently. I've been doing harsh shadows because that's what I've been told looks good and what I understood to be striking art. However I tried lighter shadows and I've been told that they look good. Please answer the poll to the best to your ability. I know the differences are subtle but they are really important to me. Also provide specific feedback in the comments so I have an idea on what I should work on/change.
(Note: A is the style used for most of the sprites in the game currently.)

For some reason the darker shadows in A lets me focus on the face easier. Odd comment I know but A feels best to me from a non-artist perspective.
