The "met as kids" is a fun trope but it wouldn't have added anything. And her mom worked there! Ok! Cool to get some other ideas and content from the drama and the characters. Very smart on their part! Thanks for letting us know!

The comics explained some of the details that couldn't be covered in the drama (due to various reasons). According to the comics, Sarang's mum worked in King Hotel before and that's why she was brought to King Hotel when she was a kid. (Little Sarang and Wonie met when they were kids, but they didn't recognise each other) Her mum died in a car accident, as explained in comics & somewhere in the middle of the drama, when Grandma told Wonie to treat Sarang well.
