Friends,
Gratitude is a new age/self help buzzword. We're meant to keep gratitude lists. To appreciate beauty in hardship. To count our blessings. And in November, we even have a holiday - however right or wrong we think that holiday may me - focused on it.

But how does gratitude "work" if it does, indeed do something? What does being thankful get us? Can it get us anything if we WANT it to get us something? Or do we have to be grateful without hope of return on our emotional investment?

Let's talk thanks, thanks.

Here's how it works:

1. Before the salon, consider gratitude in your own life. Have you "used" it for anything, whether therapy, manifestation, or more? Just think through it and sit with the concept and gesture.

2. 72-24 hours before the salon, I'll post a link you TO SIGN IN to the salon. Log in a few minutes before our start time.

3. For those who haven't been to a chat before: I'll be talking for a bit in the beginning, and then I'll open it up to discussion. When I do, you'll bring your own thoughts to bear; on what I say, on what others in the room say, on your own thoughts before we started. And think of it this way: you'll be the first person to talk. You might not be, but if you are, what will you have to say?

4. Remember: we work through the principle of RESONANCE. That means you when we talk about the texts and with each other, we say what is interesting to us, or what something makes us think, what directions it sends us in. We don't talk about what we disagree with, either with each other or with the text. This isn't to get you to agree with everything, but instead to see what productive conversations are generated from a restriction that involves perpetually keeping curiosity and good will in the conversation. Also please do follow the urge to contribute if you have it and to interact with what the community members say, not only me; in other words, talk with and to everyone in the room!
