Warlock Patron - The Formless One

Comments

1. It's a powerful enough effect that I expect some will make the effort to make it work, It's equivalent to a concentration-free +1 to hit for the whole party against a single powerful enemy. It's going to be better on a proper gish, of course, but its the kind of effect I'd be disappointed to be unable to do as an ooze-worshipper. 2. Chaos Revels is designed to provoke the initial reaction of "What is this even for?", because I think that fits well with Juiblex's characterization in D&D. This warlock has a couple of reasons to want to jump into a fireball; if combined with Ooze Shield (I see and will fix the reaction conflict there) they can defend an ally, and if combined with rapid adaptation they can take a smaller amount of damage now in anticipation of a larger chunk of damage of the same type coming later. Looking at it now, though, I think it probably needs to grant some temp HP when upcast, though. 3. Nah, they're just showing up here first. 1-2 of the spells from each subclass might end up exclusive to it, but in general they'll be available to other classes.

Oh hi Mar-I mean oh hi Isaac! Loving your Demon Lords Warlocks. Just a couple of questions: 1 - This subclass doesn't have any means to get in close range in early levels with the exception of bonus action Disengage, with isn't a lot. Because of that, as interesting I think "Caustic Coating" may be, it probably will not see a lot of play. 2 - Warlocks have almost no spell slots, so I'm wondering what is the use of "Chaos Revels" 3 - All these spells are exclusive to the subclass or other classes can use them too?
