I didn't love season 1 of The Last of Us like other people did, but I enjoyed it enough that I'm curious what season 2 has in store. Right outta the gate, they've added Cutie-I-Wouldn't-Mind-Seeing-On-Screen Kaitlyn Dever to keep me interested! But will it be enough to counter my disinterest in Joel & Ellie? Or maybe they've actually improved their story / relationship?? If not... hey, at least this season is shorter!

2025-06-08 14:44:26 +0000 UTCThe flashbacks in this episode are different but in the game they communicate pretty much the same thing the big difference being that the flashbacks of them drifting apart are played throughout ellies revenge quest in seatle inters placed between big moments and the final scene on the porch is played at the very end of the game and is basically the ending so I have no Idea how they are even gonna end the next season.

2025-06-04 02:59:44 +0000 UTCNot sure if anyone mentioned this to you, but this episode is one of the two which were co-written by the writers of the video game, and the only one directed by the creator of the games himself Neil Druckmann. I think it really showed, I'm not one of the haters who thinks the rest of the season is dogshit, but I will say this episode nailed the characters, the drama, the themes of this story way more than any other in the whole show. The tone too was so much more TLOU than the rest of the season has been. That shot you loved of the birds flying after Joel shoots Eugene, is so Druckmann and so TLOU. The games were really beautifully, subtly, tastefully directed, and it feels like the rest of the show hasn't quite carried the same finesse. Glad this one hit for you!

2025-05-31 20:36:05 +0000 UTCThey are 100% dragging it out. The first game is like a 15-20 hour game and the second game is about a 20-25 hour game. Itβs not THAT much longer. In the game you play as both Ellie and Abby throughout the whole thing, but for the show theyβre making season 2 Ellieβs parts and season 3 Abbyβs parts. Like I get what theyβre doing, but it is just not needed. God knows what the fuck season 4 would be. That shit would have to be like one episode long π

2025-05-31 02:18:44 +0000 UTCthe game format after joel dies is basically day 1 - flashback - day 2 - flashback - day 3 - flashback, so the game did feature flashbacks, but the only one thats the same as the game flashback is the museum scene. the others were made/heavily altered for the show. the porch scene is pretty similar to the game, but is the last scene of the entire game.
