Anniversary Top Ten Countdown: #2

When it comes to comic strip writing, there are different schools of thought. Some cartoonists view all of the panels preceding the final one as setup panels, using them solely to build the foundation for the punchline in the final panel. The goal of other writers is to inject humor into as many panels as possible. I like to use both strategies, depending on the script, and, to me, the Holy Grail of scripts is funny in every panel, while also providing a great final gag. It is exceedingly difficult to accomplish that feat, and, 99% of the time, I am unable to pull that off, but I feel like this comic gets there. Plus, the flashback artwork provided by my partner is absolutely epic and brilliant. Put it all together, and it equals our second favorite comic of the first year, leaving only the top spot for tomorrow... 🤔
