BTS - A Typical Trainee’s Christmas REACTION πŸŽ„

Baby Bangtan makes me so emotional 😭

Learning all of the things these boys went through, the sacrifices they had to make and all of the hard work they poured into making their debut happen will never not make me emo 😭

This song was definitely not what I was expecting but I love the direction these boys went in for their first Christmas track together. Never did I expect them to roast the living heck out of their company before even debuting but that just proves further how much their music is for THEM and not to please their label. πŸ’œ

KINGS… but where was Hobi?? 😭

You noticing Jin has not aged AT ALL... yep, welcome to the club of those of us who agree with the allegations that Jin is a Vampire. lol. Bang PD told them his only requirement was that they were honest with their music and they wrote about their stories. He knew he wasn't perfect, he was used to being a producer and writer- But here he was with his own company and BTS was his first 'from scratch' group. (The only reason we don't count Lee Hyun's group 8Eight is because Joo Hee and Chan were trainees from source music' originally. You can still find it on YT, but Jo Kwon from 2am/One Day came in and spoke to the trainees of then BigHit Ent. and Source. (they did allow the male and female trainees to mingle, but it was something the industry itself didn't really practice. And BigHit Ent back then only had Joo Hee and GLAM who were there in the building. However BTS did become close with GFriend, Twice, and even red velvet. Then there's Jin's friendship with fellow 92 liner Moonbyul- some 92 liners like JK's 97 liner friends have a group chat where they talk and plan meet ups. Unfortunately as Jin said.. it's hard for BTS to keep friendships for one reason or another- usually pressure others seem to feel, or the expectation that since BTS is so big they'd be very egotistical.) Jo Kwon spoke on the ridiculous expectations of wanting idols who do write their own music to write about love, while also not wanting them to date or experience love. Of course, he also spoke on how to experience these things in the proper way. And yes.... it was recorded, but sadly chopped up. You can't really find the full speech anymore. However it might still be out there. As someone said, ARMY became ARMY July 9th of 2013. Before then, even back pre-debut to those of us who knew Bangtan was being put together, we would flock to the old BigHit Bulletin board and post well wishes for Bangtan. Back then, Korean fans had named international fans I-Lovelies, and International fans had named Korean fans, K-Diamonds. These were the names we called each other before we finally got our name. Bangtan would use these names on occasion too. Or they'd call us whatever they felt like- like Yoongi calling us his loves, Hobi dropping the 'you're my heart' line now and then too. Back to BTS roasting Bang and their managers, this wasn't the first time nor last time they would roast them. And the staff and Bang were good about it, they knew being an idol isn't easy. They knew that unfortunately... sometimes it's very unfair. But Bang made sure that even when he and staff screwed up, they understood the mistake, and they would find a way to learn from it and be better. Because of this, BTS has also defended Bang and the company a few times. On a live back in 2018-2019, one of the two. Jin was asked something rude about the company. He said he didn't always agree with them but he likes his company and the fact that he can speak openly. When TXT were about to debut, Jin took it up on himself to promo his first junior group, but he felt that he had to constantly say that the company didn't tell him to say any of it, he just really wanted ARMY to give his Juniors a chance. And a lot of us did. Some ARMY choose to still support TXT to this day (maybe not as much support as given to BTS, but it's still support) because of one reason or another. Before the other trainees came, the original line up was just Namjoon, Iron, and Supreme Boi. And when another writer/producer/company owner( Brave Entertainment, the company that formed Brave Girls) came for Bang PD in one of their songs, Old BTS dropped a track of their own- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcsiCwa8o14 Honestly, one of my favorite 'first line' BTS clap backs. Iron had talent, and it is a shame he fell off the right path. Not even Supreme boi and Namjoon could help him. And then Supreme boi tried... he got mixed up in Iron's BS and blamed. Unfortunately Jung Hun-Cheol, aka Iron passed away in 2021. NamJoon didn't openly say anything, but it was also known that he and Iron stopped talking years ago when Iron got into some stuff that he shouldn't have. Supreme boi was the only one who tried to repair their friendship, but then he got flack for producing one track of Iron's and he was also dragged down. But he wasn't involved, he genuinely thought he was trying to repair a broken friendship... sadly, he couldn't repair it and the two stopped talking again. But yeah, this got ranty... lol. sorry. Bang PD only cared that the guys were writing about what was real. And as trainees(hell not even JUST as trainees in the idol world) ... it's common to really dislike your staff and boss. lol.

ARMYnotArmy

If that's the reason that hurt 😒

Hobi quit for a little while pre-debut before the guys convinced him to come back and stick it out with them (and namjoon convinced the company to take him back). I don't think they've ever given an exact timeline for when that happened, but it's possible they made this song while he was gone and thats why he's not in it. I think Jin posted a blog entry around that christmas too with photos of the 6 of them hanging out, practicing, etc. and there was no hobi in sight. :(

BTS were so real and speaking about things idols never did since the very beginning and I love that!πŸ’œ they are true artists. But fr I think no one would expect a Christmas song like this, the way they kept respectfully dissing Bang PD and the company is everything and Namjoon's random poop verse is so funny and let's not talk about the short christmas video that is basically memes + Namjoon and Seokjin hanging out lmao 😭 I love them so much. Oh and I have to mention I adore Taehyung's lines, his voice is so damn beautiful and shines so much in these type of songs.

Purple Chamchi

Merry Christmas, Peachy, and everyone. A little JinKook short (less than 20 seconds long, but so cute πŸ˜‚πŸ’œ). https://youtube.com/shorts/avkwG9GxIks?si=8XsUXzRdZErGMDCi

Bangtan dissing Bang PD, and him letting them, is top tier comedy. Like who does that to their boss?! And in a song too, where people can replay over again.

ORUOT72 @ladybangtan

I know kpop stans culture is to bash the companies no matter what but bighit really gave BTS artistic freedom from the start. And i really appreciate them for that. BTS to this day still works with their og staff and are very attached to them.

Betty Ba

and yeah, army's name was announced july 9, 2013, almost a month after bangtan's debut. so july 9 is army's birthday πŸ’œ before it was decided and announced, yoongi used to call us "my loves" and they have another option for the fandom name too which is "bangwool" or bells in english πŸ˜†

outrolars

there's actually another version of this called "a typical idol's christmas", which is adapted from justin bieber's song "only thing i ever get for christmas" and was released when they already debuted 😁 https://youtu.be/u6egiLvaXEA?si=q2ZiflJ9aAFAYOPH namjoon and jk doesn't have parts and i don't know if it's because they both already participated in another christmas song which is a collab from bighit artists called "perfect christmas" released a few days earlier

I remember when I first heard this song and it was not at all what I was expecting either. I think it's a really good example of how hard they worked to get where they are. Even from the beginning. I also love that the company let them say what they wanted. Ahh, Baby Bangtan has come soooo far.

SuchALittleMonster

OMGGGGG this song hits me right in my heart, they were so sincere I cant!
