REACTING to Jimin' s busan satoori (dialect) jumping out πŸ˜‚πŸ’œ

Jimin with Seoul Satoori:πŸ₯°β›…πŸ’–πŸ˜‡πŸŽ€

Jimin with Busan Satoori:πŸ‘ΉπŸ‘ΏπŸ”ͺπŸ”₯⛓️‍πŸ’₯

BAHAHAH

I am so happy i finally got around to watching this video because there have been so many moments where I think I hear Jimin's Busan accent come out but am unsure so now I have some research to back up my claims HEHEH>:D

Hearing such a deep, crunchy voice come out of the cutie pie Jimin is both adorable and hilarious. I love the moments where he tries to act tough or intimidating and just ends up doing the complete opposite LOL

I need to hear more on the other member's Satoori and what really brings it out of them! Do you have a fave accent that comes out of the BTS boys? c:

Hey Peachy, since you seem to be intrigued by the different dialects and accents the members use, I recommend this video : https://youtu.be/XYV7W-PfeAk?si=V4eck633rBjiCoHA This video is made by a Korean teacher and speaker of 10+ years. He goes into detail about how the members speak and the different terms and grammar they use, things that non-Korean speakers don’t really notice. Billy has done a video for each of the 7 members and they are all very interesting. Plus, the videos are pretty educational when comes to the Korean language in general. I think you would definitely benefit from checking them out!!! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU PEACHY πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

I love it when BTS speak in their respective accents πŸ’œ It is also so endearing seeing Jimin speaking in satori when he either feels super confident/ wanting to show off, or when he gets frustrated πŸ˜†πŸ’œ Also something that is a little funny for me personally, is that the Busan satori is very close to my own accent, both in tone and what it is described as 🀭 πŸ’œ

Hi Peachy, another wholesome reaction.. Thank you.. Don't know whether anyone has already recommended you the Paldogangsan (Satoori Rap). it talks about the different provinces they are from. There is no MV but you can watch the lyrics video and then a live performance. There is an OT7 performance of it.

teena.philip

I never knew about that. Gonna have to go look it up. 😊

I find the Busan accent so hot! You right Peachy, you noticed more Jungkook, Jimin and Hobi's accent because the Busan accent and the Jeolla accent are the most notorious. The Daegu boys are Yoongi and Taehyung. About Tae, he was born in Daegu and moved to Geochang pretty young to live with his grandparents. But, Geochang is very close to Daegu, like in the outskirts of Daegu, so both have the same dialect but probably have some differences in vocabulary or expressions too. Idk if you knew this or not, but Jimin and Taehyung used to go on vlive back in 2015-2016 and make a show/section called Mandakko where they taught ARMYs their Satoori with phrases and sceneries. They sometimes invited the other members too. Many of these are so chaotic lmao πŸ˜‚

So with other Korean dialects, the words are usually different from standard Seoul dialect. It’s not just accent but also how they conjugate, how words are used, or it can be totally regional words and phrases. Jin is from Anyang and RM is from Ilsan. These are both cities in the Gyeonggi province (northwest of South Korea). And these cities are just right next to Seoul, so they speak the standard Seoul dialect. Taehyung and Yoongi are from Daegu, a city in North Gyeongsang province (southeast of South Korea). Jungkook and Jimin are from Busan, a city in South Gyeongsang province (also southeast). Though both Daegu and Busan dialects are considered to be Gyeongsang dialects, there is a subtle difference between the two but are very similar. Hobi is from Gwangju, a city in South Jeolla province (southwest of South Korea). He’s the only one who speaks the Jeolla dialect. BTS is a group where none of the members are originally from Seoul, though Jin and RM grew up adjacent to the capital.

I think the thing that makes BTS humble is the comments and the calling out they do to each other, it keeps them humble and down to earth

eka wardani

i remember watching a tiktok from a korean-american creator whose family is from busan say that when they are speaking in every day conversation, jungkook’s busan accent is more prevalent!! i thought that was interesting since jungkook lived in seoul at a younger age compared to jimin, but apparently jimin’s regular voice just has the standard seoul accent!! ofc when he’s angry though he’ll make sure to scold someone with his busan satoori lmaoooo

mar

Satoori is not the name of the dialect. Satoori means dialect. So no they are not speaking the same dialect, but different ones.

MintChoco

Busan accent is just something. Is just so hot πŸ₯΅

also anytime Yoongis Daegu drawl comes out I'm chewing floorboards, eating through drywall, and in general going rabid

I think you've checked out their song paldogangsan from orul82 where they sang/rapped in their dialects so that is definitely always a fun/easy way to hear some of the differences!

Sara C

If you wanna see a really quick (like three second) example of a difference in inflection between seoul and daegu dialects, please refer to Jin and Yoongi being absolutely adorable: https://youtube.com/shorts/56Ip76oPLMI (the sentence they're saying means "wow it's the ocean")

zofeya

hehe... a lot of these clips happened to be of shouty moments, but that doesn't mean busan satoori is just yelling. it has slightly different inflections, shortened sentences, and is generally more direct (which makes it sound more aggressive even if the speaker isn't yelling at all). The particle "ma" is a key indicator--if you hear Jimin throwing "ma" in his sentences it means he's slipped.

peachy you have to watch yoongi daegu accent its verry attractive to me and sexy too

Hi^^, if you are interested in learning more about the different satoori of the members, you can check out the videos series Go Billy has done on analysing each of the members Korean speech. Or keep it in mind for later, when you are farther into your Korean language journey. Here is the episode on Jimin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYV7W-PfeAk
