it doesn't get much cuter than baby bangtan doing their darnest to make it in this big scary world. to me, they look like bebes but inside they had a fiery desire to put their names and art out into the world and they sure freaking DID do that!!
heads up - i'm pretty sure some of thes weren't actually bts audition tapes so.. there's that WAH!! sorry hehe

19 year old me would have been weak in the knees for Yoongi. He has always been my type 💯. I can't live without Yoongi's vocal squeaks and other sounds he makes. Goddamn it Yoongi Marry Me! 🫠🤭

2025-09-25 15:16:47 +0000 UTCSo Hobi did sing for his audition, too. Though I don't think he had a traditional audition for BigHit. He passed an audition at JYP and won a competition there, too. But anyway, pre-BTS, j-hope starred in a musical in Gwangju. There are these really k-drama-esque posters of it that have him front and center. haha. So he was singing and dancing pre-BTS but dance was obviously what he was best known for. :)

(they met joon at the pub rapping, jin at bus stop, jungkook at superstark audition) For yoongi, jimin and tae, they auditioned for bighit but sadly there are no footages for vmin. For hobi, he auditioned for jyp and were a trainee there for a while. Also, bangpd used to work as a producer at jyp. then he resigned there and established his own company which is bighit and convinced hobi to join. All these info are from beyond the story book actually hehe

2025-09-25 13:39:38 +0000 UTCIf I had one question to ask JK, it would be what was it in him that convinced him to go audition for Superstar K. He was so young and he's said himself he was so super shy then. So I'm in awe of his courage and drive, which ultimately, changed his life.

A big hit scout was watching him at superstarK and when she saw lots of labels give him their cards she convinced Bang PD to give him a direct offer without an audition because she had a sense he'd had potential. And then that scout spoke to his dad every day for a week to explain what would happen if he signed with them. And showed JK Namjoon's video - the black and white one that is in this video - and the rest is history...
