Magic Style Illustration - part 2 - video w/full commentary

Check it out here -

YouTube(may still take some time to process HD) - or - Download

Hey!

In this video I walk you through my process of working up the final lines before laying down the underpainting - addressing my thoughts on building from the thumbnail with a rough sketch to further guide the line work as well as all of the mistakes made throughout the process. At this point in the process we're focused on the most crucial aspect of the painting - the drawing - basically the bones of your entire piece, if this part isn't hammered out correctly there can be issues moving forward. Essentially, whatever wasn't worked out and corrected in the thumbnail is hopefully corrected here, or at least that's the aim!

Please let me know if you have any questions I can include around the process for the future videos. The next part should be up tomorrow!

Thanks as always for your support!

Dave

Thanks! It’s the watercolor clip studio brush I usually have attached to clip process stuff. If you click the brushes tag here on patreon you should be able to find it easy enough

I haven't been able to watch the video yet, but I will later. But just wondering, what brush do you use to get that nice dark fill in the rib cage and stuff? It look very, super pencil on papery. I can see ways of achieving it by hand, but it looks like there is a brush thing going on. It looks super duper sweet! Thanks and have a good week.
