The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes full-length reaction

For copyright reasons, full-length reactions don't include the show or movie footage, so you'll need your own copy to watch along with me. Ideally, you'll need two screens or two browser windows. One for the reaction, and the other for the show you're watching. Using your phone is also viable to watch one of them.

As many different streaming services in different countries often play trailers or recaps before the show starts, the easiest way I've found to sync up footage is to find the first RECOGNISABLE frame (ie. not a black screen) of the episode. Don't worry, I'll show you the frame to look for at the beginning of each full-length reaction!

This will be:

✨The first frame of the opening credits.✨

OR

✨The first frame of the cold open.✨

Once you've found the approximate frame on your copy, pause it. Next, play the reaction and you'll see a countdown timer at the end of the intro and when the show is about to start. Press "play" on your copy when the timer reaches 0:00.

A small (but muted) portion of the show will stay on the screen to allow you to properly sync up your copy if you need to adjust it. The easiest way to eliminate any small discrepancies between the two is to rapidly pause and unpause the video that's ahead until both are running simultaneously.

Note: Some of my older shows might have the first frame after the opening credits.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense! I'm absolutely going to pick up the books for this series I think!

The scene in the cabin and the scene afterwards in the forest are not as well portrayed in the film as they are in the book. Those who have not read the book may think that it was Lucy Gray who provoked Snow, but in fact this is not the way it happened. Snow went with Lucy Gray only because he was afraid that the gun would be found, and he really disliked the life that awaited them. As soon as he found the gun, there was no reason for him not to go back. In the book, she doesn't say she's a loose end. She says she's going to get ready for Katniss by the river, and Snow justifies himself in his own mind — he has to kill her or she'll betray him. And in the book, it's not clear that she deliberately left the snake under her scarf — that's what Snow thinks. The snake could have ended up there by accident. He lied to her before that — when she asked who the third person he killed was. But for her, trust is more important than love, and she told him that. And when he found the gun, she realised he was going to kill her and left. Lucy Gray is a good person, I think, but in the book we see everything through Snow's eyes, and by the end he thinks she's bad, that she betrayed him to justify herself Thank's.
