"Date Me!" Collaboration w/ Minia Studios

Hi friends,

I am happy to share with you this collaboration with the very talented Minia Studios. If you are unfamiliar with his work, you can find it here alongside an alternative edit of this clip featuring some really cool blood and horror fx at the end. Since clip stores do not allow blood, we made a safer edit for me to share (posted here). At the moment, I am not releasing it on my own stores for downloads just yet because I want to make sure I point people to Minia's page first, since this is a collaboration and he did a ton of work on this project.

In terms of the video itself, the original plan involved a slightly different plot. However, since I had to reschedule my shoot with Lauren, we had to use a different location, one that didn't quite fit the original plot. Essentially, everything we had planned on doing had to be slightly altered and improvised on the fly. After the shoot was over, upon getting home and looking at the footage, I was so discouraged that I thought the clip might be unusable. I was almost ready to give up on the clip, but to Minia's credit, he had a vision for bringing the clip back to life from the dead. In fact, in the spirit of collaboration, we both provided feedback to one another, but I let Minia do his own sound design work here after I sent him my ideal edit of the clip.

While I think neither of us would proclaim that this clip is perfect, given the circumstances I am pretty happy with how this came out. Hopefully we will be able to collaborate again in the future, next time planning it out in advance.

Lauren Ashlyn in "Date Me!" Collaboration w/ Minia Studios

Putting on her makeup, Lauren Ashlyn texts back and forth with her date when she receives a startling confession, her date has been lying to her about his size.  Initially in disbelief, Lauren quickly realizes that he is not joking. Disappointed, Lauren decides to call off the date. Shrouded in anger, the tiny man lashes out at Lauren, accusing her of being a terrible, shallow person. The conversation ends on a sour note, before Lauren decides to get out of her date clothes and into something more comfortable. 

Little does she know, her date has come to confront her, to prove her wrong and potentially win her over. However, he has gotten more than he bargained for, as she has no idea he is even there. In over his head, the tiny man begins to try to get her attention by calling her on the phone, but Lauren repeatedly ignores him. After enough tries, she finally picks up, and upon discovering the tiny intruder down below, she steps on him without a second thought.
