^ I don’t disagree with you on that. But my mom is the “if you don’t stop crying I’ll give you a reason to cry” kind of mom😭. I love her to death but being brought up like that definitely makes you suppress emotions.

2023-05-24 17:18:56 +0000 UTCmy dad grew up in jamaica until he was 9 when my gramma moved him and my aunt to the states. i can confirm as a firsthand witness that it is the mamma's who are toughening up the men, lol. after i came out as a trans man she didn't hesitate with me either— i was no longer allowed to cry in front of her, and i didn't even care because she was treating me like the other men in my family. my gramma is easily the strongest woman i've ever known ✊🏼 regardless of if we agree or not, these women are trying to raise us to be the best version of ourselves and i'll never fault them for that

2023-05-24 15:57:12 +0000 UTCi think the only moments i cried in One Piece was Merry's sendoff and when Dadan faced Garp about Ace after Marineford. I tend to be more sad about the impact/aftereffects of character deaths rather than the actual event cuz im too busy being shocked lol
