Magic trades to reduce spell costs, by design, ignore physics. They look at what's being traded, and what makes sense, from a completely different perspective.
As we exist in a physical reality, this can be difficult to accept, and easily seems very weird, if not nonsensical.
Which is entirely what I was going for. I want magic to have an internal logic, but I ALSO want there to be a fundamental strangeness to it that defies physical logic.
Much about it cannot be understood without a willingness to see things from a perspective that defies reality as we know it.
Also, why wouldn't people have spare clothes in Tedd's basement? All sorts of nonsense could happen down there. Be prepared, darn it.

Agreed. The correct question to ask is not "Why does Eliot have spare clothes at Tedd's house¨", but rather "Why do Ashley and Nanase experimenting at Tedd's house without having spare clothing of their own on hand?" Well, OK, I understand the answer for Ashley. But Nanase should know better. To be clear, I'm not complaining that she doesn't realize it yet. I'm absolutely not complaining about it. I'm not sure if I'm in favor of it, but I'm definitely not opposed.

2023-12-03 06:44:10 +0000 UTCConsidering that the Jeremy form in the TF gun is known to destroy clothing, anyone who is aware of its existence would be wise to keep some spare clothing at Tedd's house. The alternative is wearing some of the spare clothing Tedd keeps for post-morph situations from the old pre-clothing-auto-changing times.
