Assorted 2018 - 10 - HD

In retrospect, I wish I'd started out in a more "modest" form and wound up in the form I began with here.

But I didn't, so, like, whatevs.

I think that considering "Bimbo" to be mean and gender specific is totes reasonable, but personally I've been using it as ungendered for awhile, and more in a light hearted than super mean way.

Rowen Morland

You right, I gues) I just visited my friend Escafa page and find you again))

Artwork Cari Studio

I comment frequently on DA, so that's probably why you've seen my username. And I do have a DA gallery, but it's all commissioned work. I'm not an artist.

coredumperror

This is what I wanted to say)) Did we met before? Do you have a page on DeviantArt?

A "me" that was easily distracted wouldn't talk at all. They'd be too busy thinking of everything they had to do in the near future, or whatever else was on their mind. The spell would have to directly attempt to alter my speech to get a result similar to the comic.

Dragon Writer Luc

I used to be a witch who never got a chance to speak because I wouldn't say anything until I had figured out the entire sentence I wanted to say, and by the time I was even halfway done someone else would talk over me. But I've since started signalling I have something to say before I get skipped with a "Well..." or "The thing is..." and then I pause while I figure out how I'm actually going to say whatever my point is.

Fenrir

Really? I take the Spock route: A brief stare with one-or-more raised or lowered eyebrows, and drawn-out "Fascinating...", "Hnnn...", "Interesting...", or "Really?" while I arrange my thoughts, and people seem to think I had already formulated my sentence. Can we find a Bones (grouchy grumble), Uhura (check your bluetooth headset) or Scotty (interjecting assorted obscure regional brogue) around here?

James C

I personally am pleased you chose the starting and ending forms that you did. Also, I love the message in that first panel.

Kkat

It's fine!

Dan Shive

I usually just put long silent pauses in my speech when I need a moment to think. ...A lot like Kirk... only less dramatic.

Chronos Cat

I’m guilty of saying like and dude too much in my plain talking. When i’m actively trying to be professional, less so, but i also stammer and stutter more then.

Like, this is for-SURE okay. Oh Em Gee I can't imagine anyone, like, complaining about this. (Good old Valley Girl)

Copper Hamster

I used to hate the whole "like" this or what ever, thing. No I eat every word cause it super helps organizing thoughts, and so many people use it. "Like. Bro. Dude. I like." It can be masculine too! And fem. On the one hand I'm eating every word I ever said making fun of people doing that, I did it before I came out, AND It's handy. I will, like, talk how I want. Every one else can step off.

Stoodmuffin

The weirdest phenomenon is writing a lengthy scene with a ditzy character, getting into the mindset to naturally insert "likes" and other such phrases, then going back to normal conversation and finding myself slipping into the ditz speech pattern by accident.

Changer

To respond to what you wrote on the site: we witches do our pausing before we start our sentences, which means we often miss our opportunities. But hey, at least we are only thought fools, unlike those who open their mouths and remove all doubt. Also I fully support your choice to write in imitation of how you speak. I personally do omit stopwords from my writing (well, except when I use them for inflection, you know?), but I do often make a conscious choice to write ungrammatical colloquialisms.

Borg Lord

I love seeing some Ditziness from you, It's always so cute. Makes me wonder what would happen if you drank more. On what you said in the commentary and what the comic itself is saying about you not liking the terms. Yeah I can understand, though at the same time there tends to be a difference in HOW the word is used, as these terms can be used in positive ways as well. But in this context, the speech is used to display air-head/ditzy but lovable.

Kachopper9

comics like these always leave me feeling a bit awkward. on the one hand, I want to compliment the artistic talent on display, as well as compliment attractive character designs. on the other hand, that attractive character design is meant to represent a real person, and I get super nervous telling anyone I think they look nice. >.>

Connie Edogawa

I will never not love any comic staring your avatar, Dan! And also it's great to see Minion again. :) And I think your avatar's form in panel 1 is the best of the three. :)

coredumperror

Like, Ya know?

ZekeStaright

The ditzy transformations are among my absolute favorite.
