EDIT: The color blindness is something I came up with for the puzzle, and not anything to do with her being a gecko.

There is actually a type of colorblindness that makes everything greyscale. It's called <a href="https://www.colour-blindness.com/variations/total/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">monochromacy</a>.

2018-11-15 22:00:16 +0000 UTCThe idea that everything would suddenly become greyscale isn't realistic, but the idea that she couldn't see the pattern is most definitely possible. One would just have to select two colors that, when seen through that color blindness filter, look identical. This is admittedly easier with just pure greyscale, but not impossible with other types of color blindness.
