Commentary
It was important enough to me to show that dude's eyebrows that I openly defied the inherent opaqueness of his bucket helmet. I apologize for nothing.
A lack of tires
That guy with the wheel on his back is inspired by post-apocalyptic armor that incorporate bits of tire. This fantasy post-apocalypse doesn't have tires, so this poor guy is stuck with a wagon wheel on his back. Between that and all the buckets, it's a wonder he can flee so quickly.
Nerdy video game references
The kitty people of The Elder Scrolls, the Khajiit, get a fancy +12 damage when unarmed in Skyrim (the game says it's +15, but my understanding is that's an error).
Very early on, it means the Khajiit can outperform actual weapons. That doesn't last long, but if one really wanted to build a character to specialize in unarmed combat, it can be done. It just wouldn't outperform the same effort put into a weapon-using build.

If she'd used a weapon, she might still be fighting him. Yes, I realize in the end he did himself in, but it was the fact she was able to interfere with his regeneration that caused him to second-guess himself to the point he felt blowing himself up was a good idea. I thought I was going to be giving this response to Fenrir, but, um... I guess somebody may have forgotten that sometimes natural weaponry has special advantages. Sure, as far as we know, Grace's natural weapon special advantages aren't applicable here. But the bucket heads don't know that. They see someone wearing clothes with natural weapons and no equipable weapons wandering around in the wasteland like it seemed it was a good idea at one point, they're going to assume the worst. Also, the whole 'squirrel' bit kind of suggests that she could easily have been running from something that she could have taken out, had she chosen to stand her ground. (To be fair, given her whole flame resistance bit, I'd be inclined to say that's applicable in this case. I don't know what the giant mutant roach can do, of course. But for an insect of that size, simply standing and breathing is a surprising feat. I wouldn't expect a lot of combat prowess out of it.)

2019-04-22 22:51:38 +0000 UTCYou know, I'm not sure about that... By which I mean "I'm genuinely not sure", not "I'm definitely on this side of the fence and am talking down your side of it". With a specialized weapon, like a sai or a fencing sword, I'm guessing they might want to go unarmed, but I'm wondering if a martial artist trained predominantly in unarmed combat wouldn't still benefit from something like an aluminum baseball bat.

2019-04-22 13:27:50 +0000 UTCThat seems unlikely to me: her superpowers are telekenisis and self-targeted biokinesis. Generally, she should benefit from weapons the same way anyone else would. The trick is she can't summon weapons, and it's hard to explain why you're walking around carrying an actual weapon. Further, most of her combat training is from a guy who taught himself anime-style martial arts from watching anime; I bet he doesn't know any weapon-using martial arts styles, so Greg's just teaching what he knows. ALSO also, it's probably a lot less dangerous than handing the superstrong telekinetic squirrel-girl novice a club to swing around until after you cover the basics of body/self discipline.
