Next EGSNP will be Saturday

It will be double-sized, which, fortunately, works pretty well for it. The result will be able to be mistaken for something I had brilliantly planned, and not brought about by lack of sleep, if one didn't notice the dates.

My apologies for the delay.

That same poet said it was better to burn out than it was to rust, because rust never sleeps. Both conditions cause a lack of productivity but burnout at least has a burst of productivity that precedes the inactivity, unlike rust.

Opus the Poet

Nah, I was thinking of Neil Young. "It's better to burn out, than to fade away." To which I say, Pace yourself, and put off the burning out or fading away as long as you can.

I thought the poet said, "Do not go gentle into that good night", which is kind of what you're saying, apart from the bit where you're arguing with the poet. ... What? Dylan wasn't talking about that kind of night. Taking proper self care, including resting when you need to, is required to not go gentle into that good night. My mother had Myasthenia Gravis, which is a chronic systemic condition which causes excessive fatigue. She was diagnosed after having it for over 10 years, at which point she was seriously debilitated, but still able to get by with a little help from the family. When I was a teenager, I attended a talk given by a former pro athlete with MG. He only had it for about a year before he was diagnosed... in the ER, because he didn't rest when he needed to, since his athletic training taught him to push himself. Even those of us without such conditions need our rest. We can only work for so long before we collapse, and doing that generally means our limit will be less the next time. We just don't get the message delivered quite as insistently.

Some Ed

The poet's words notwithstanding, both burning out and fading away should be delayed. Get your rest, and continue making seriously silly comics. Thanks!

Something to look forward to :)
