The above exchange actually would be a comic if Grace had a less firm understanding of Ashley, but Grace has been making a serious effort to understand people AND is really close with Tedd, so... Yeah.
She's not that confused.

I didn't personally view this as Grace not understanding Ashley, but finally attempting the "friendly tease" but running head first into TMI with someone who's already hot under the collar.
