Turkey time

- At egscomics

At least, I THINK getting three strikes in a row is a turkey? I figure even if I'm wrong, it's a good choice for the preview.

Commentary

I like including tangential details and observations simply because that's how my brain rolls, but I ALSO like including them because they naturally function as red herrings, and that easily could have been the case with Catalina commenting on slippery bowling shoes.

"Ha ha! You thought I was setting her up to fall, but no! She got a strike!"

(Granted, most people seemed to guess slip OR strike, but still. Not sure if anyone guessed slip AND strike, but if you did? I respect your moxie.)

BUT NO! This was a... Um... BLUE herring! Chekov's herring? Yeah. One of those.

Anyway, Catalina fall down! Go boom? Stay tuned to find out!

Some people think that they're only supposed to stay off the bowling lanes for fear of damaging the delicate wood. The wood isn't that delicate, though. Admittedly, wood that smooth and polished is expensive and any damage to it, even damage that's not visible to the eye, can ruin the bowling experience of any patrons using that lane, so any damage to it would be costly. But the real reason is it's real slick and the most likely way one is to damage it is by doing what Catalina is in the process of doing right now. Oh, and also, it is possible to get a strike while one is doing that, which I know because the person who triggered the lecture from the bowling alley manager that I summarized above did exactly that. At that particular bowling alley, the practice of the bowling alley was to count said strike, or any other amount of pins knocked down, as a gutterball.

Wolf in Herring's clothing? ;)

Clearly, this is where Lucy demonstrates that she /also/ has undisclosed magic, which she will use to catch Catalina.

John Beattie

Catalina doesn't. Remember the time she tried a backflip?

sanityormadness

She'll be fine. Cats always land on their feet.

Casey

So... who's gonna catch her? 😏
