Chapter Seventeen (0.17.0) Update #1

With the story moving beyond the city limits, Now & Then gets to start exploring newer locations, even if some of them are brief stops along the road. With what's been built set-wise and written in the script so far, there is certainly a road trip quality to this episode. Gone are the cityscapes, replaced with more organic locations. Of course, for our cast that also means having to deal with road hazards, like moving stalled cars out of the way and finding places to pee off the side of the road.
As with Chapter 9 (after fleeing the apartment) and 12 (which followed the huge sequence with the bandits and meeting Sydney), the newest chapter will be a lower-impact experience. This is especially necessary since it will the first time in the game that Alice has been with Jack and the girls in the present, so you'll need to catch up with her and how everyone interacts with her. You'll also see how her stats play out. There will be more on this in future updates as is finalize the terminology.

Been following the WT, so I skimmed ahead to see Alice makes her reappearance, and was ecstatic to have her back, but a little disappointed we lost Sydney. Will we ever see her again or is her story done?

2021-05-29 22:35:06 +0000 UTCI may not have every detail hammered out from day one, but I did try to have the entire plot arc at least in outline form. In fact, the scene with a certain muscle lady in CH16 has been in the plan since Chapter one.

I was worried Alice didn't make it since I loved her character from the beginning. That said, it's gonna get really interesting once the happiness of reuniting with her wears off, will the girls (mainly Carol) feel threatened by her inevitable interest in the MC.

2021-05-29 02:09:43 +0000 UTCThese are nice lite spoilers! I liked the images with Carol and Alice but I also enjoyed the bridge that shows water fairly close to the bottom of that bridge. It's a good reminder that infrastructure continues to slowly degrade and that travel could get dicey - no weather channel anymore, for one thing.
