Thanks Matthew! I am glad you enjoy the book updates. I’ve not heard of Heinlein before, so I’ll try to grab the book you recommended!

I do apologize if it was unclear in the description of the tier, but the full reactions are meant to be watched by you with your own copy of the episode side by side with my reaction. I do not provide a free version of Paramount Plus’ properties as this is against copyright law. I can refund you if you wish

As I'm watching it it's all fuzzied out. I can't really see it, which kind of destroys watching it with you which is the fun part

Regarding your book updates. No surprise, im sure but for what it's worth I love hearing your updates on your forays into literature, especially since you are reading a lot of the classic sci-fi stuff that I've always loved. "Childhood's End" is not my favorite Clarke novel, I'm more partial to Rama and the 2001 series. But you can't go entirely wrong with anything by Clarke. Now that you've sampled Asimov and Clarke you just need to try Heinlein to cover the "Big 3" . If you ever do, "Stranger in a Strange Land" is probably the place to start. "Farthest Star" is a pretty good episode of TAS and a fine into to the series. I do agree with you that Kirk looks a bit "generic". Story is pretty good though. I also agree that its unfortunate that there's no Chekov but Arex and M'Ress are kinda neat. They certainly take advantage of the possibilities animation opens up in terms of more "non-human" visuals. Don't feel bad for Koenig though. By all accounts I've read, at the time he wanted to get more into the writing side of TV production. As others have said he contributed to TAS in this capacity, and also was one of the main writers on another of my sci-fi favorite childhood sci-fi programs, a show called "Land of the Lost" that mixed live action with stop motion animated dinosaurs.
