2025-03-12 15:06:29 +0000 UTCI made it work from my hotel! At the end you asked, "where are we?" It told you... "Beyond the Infinite." Great reaction. Mind blown, just as Kubrik wanted. Clarke's original short story was "The Sentinel." He and Kubrik co-wrote the screenplay based (very) roughly on that. The novel by Clarke is based on the movie and fleshes it out some. Ready to be truly mind blown? This was made in 1968. All real images put on FILM. No CGI. They didn't even have digital editing or frame counts. All cut by hand with razor blades and patched together with tape. Amazing!
