NSFW controversy of the last days, what's up

Hello everyone!

Some of you have noticed, there is an ongoing controversy going on.

To sum it up:

- A game named "No Mercy" attracted a lot of attention because of its thematic around rape and violence.
- Having that game highly mediatized accelerated a lot the ongoing laws about child protection, that you have already noticed with the ID verification on PornHub and such.
- itch.io temporarily removed the adult games from the search feature. Try it out, you won't find games anymore.
- itch.io did that because they have no filter about what content is on the platform, and because of that, they don't have time to check games one by one immediately, and decided to protect themselves first.
- Steam has been more protective about what is allowed on the platform, so they didn't need to do anything so drastic and just plain banned a few problematic games and let everything else up.
- Added restriction may be added via some legislation, such as the USK age rating, PEGI, etc. Those are paid services for the developper, which will be quite a financial hole for me if we ever go there (1800€ for USK alone, and I would have to pay for each of them, one per legislation...). But nothing has been acted on that yet.

In both case, itch.io games and Steam games are still up. Itch.io, you need a direct link, but except for that, nothing changed.

Steam, itch, Patreon may in the some future require ID verification for NSFW pages.

It is unclear what will be the restricted thematics in games, but this should include:

- Incest
- Scat
- Rape
- Physical violence

Having prevented CBT, uro and scat from ever reaching the FWG games, I am, as far as I can tell, safe.

Many other devs crossed those boundaries, and for them, it's not going to go well.

For you, except for the potential ID part in some future if you want to keep accessing the game updates, nothing special is going on.
